 The Southwestern Company welcomes parent inquiries. In fact, a student’s success during the summer can be attributed, in part, because of the support they receive from home.
Many of Southwestern’s trainers and management team are parents also. We understand your concern and respect the need for information.
For many families, parents play a crucial role in the decision to participate in such a program. Southwestern has an open line of communication to provide factual information for you to help your children decide if this is the right program for them.

Parents are crucial to the success of the student dealers during the summer. Their positive support and endorsement into The Southwestern Company program is encouraged through contact prior to the summer and correspondence throughout the summer. In fact, some parents even sold Southwestern Company products when they were in college!
 The Southwestern Company program is set up to not only teach students how to sell, but also focuses on the importance of schedule and structure, success principles, ethics, motivation, dedication, confidence, positive affirmation, and many other traits to help build character that lasts a lifetime. All of the above, plus communications skills and the cycle of selling, are covered in the week long Sales School the student attends at The Southwestern Company before setting foot in a prospect family's actual home. Every effort is made to prepare the student mentally, emotionally, and physically for what may be the most challenging and rewarding summer work around. The student will grow on a personal and professional level throughout the summer, reaching higher levels of maturity. If selected for the program for a second year, the student will be trained by The Southwestern Company in management and leadership techniques and can actually mentor a team of students throughout the summer.
